In this last week of the competition...

Take my advice and rap up - its baltic out there...

New personal best!!

7.5lbs and a great fight...

First cast with the new rod...

Hard to believe it but this jack pike was caught within seconds of Wilson's first cast of the day with his new rod and reel that Santa gave him... Incredible! Especially when you consider that he had NO bait on at the time.

Boxing Day '07 - Oh the joy...

It was absolutely freezin - the wind would have cut you in two and left you for dead!

Another one for Mike

Investment in new tackle pays off...

Did you deliberately ensure your scarf matched your hoodie... nice!

Mike's new rod and pod...

Ohhh and Jamie's fish too...

The lure

Be prepared...

Guess who was a boy scout...

There is always one...

Does Erin know you have her scarf?

The undisputed top venue at dawn...

Tim takes the lead!!

Here's the big girl!

Tim reports "Saturday 17th November: 11 lbs 13 oz, 9:00am joey Mackerel, pop-up. Sounds like a birth date for a very large baby minus the mackerel pop-up bit. Great scrap with this one, line zipping runs. I had a tripod with camera attached to capture the moment. . The day all you spectators where at the world rally champs. Bad timing lads. I warned Niall this would happen if he went away for a weekend and miss an essential session. The evidence is conclusive, enjoy."

Mike's Pike (Or so we are led to believe...)

Bit of a fat girl alright...

Mike's Pike

Nice fish but where is Mike? ;-)

Memo to all competitors...

Please note that all entries must be placed with this website shortly after a fish has been caught and all entries must be accompanied by a photo… We are aware that there have been rumours of bigger fish than the current leaders having been caught. We would like to take this opportunity to remind competitors that until an official entry complete with photo has been made all claims will be discounted as pure rumour.

Remember rumour does not equal prizes – tight lines.

Friends to visit - WARNING...

Last Saturday Peter & Wilson fished the Quoile, Downpatrick. In one 15 minute period they were visited by no less than 5 rats and they weren't small ones. They didn't catch that day but they did get some cracker photographs. (See above or hit the link to Wilson and Co. to your left)

Why is Tim holding Jamie's fish?

Looks bigger than 6.5lb does it not...

Tim holding Jamie's 6.5lb 'er

Look at the head, eye and jaw on that beast...

Wilson enters with his first fish of 5lb...

What a fight this one put up, bouncing all over the place hence the dirt about him - not surprising the poor fella had a trace stuck in his bake from a previous encounter...
*
** a personal best for Wilson & caught on his home made trace too**

6.5lbs and the opening entry

(You'll be glad to hear I now have a more humane set of scales more suited to the job. On reflection I wouldn't recommend weighing live fish using this method, I was desperate - the Pike in the picture survived)
